Great camera with excellent battery life October 8, 2008 T.BONE (MN, USA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have had this camera for about 9 months now. It takes excellent photos! Not as high resolution as the Moultrie 6mp but I would buy this one again for the savings on price and the minimal quality difference from this to the 6mp. I live in MN and have used these cameras in -0 degree temperature. The battery life is unbelievable to be honest, best on the market! From June to Sept I have pulled at least 2000+ photos from this model (4mp IR) and still have 45% battery life. I have found that the camera only functions properly on about 30% battery life so I don't have much left but it's been worth the money in batteries. One VERY important thing to remember is to use Duracell batteries, not Energizer or any other type including rechargeables. I have tried the others and they do not compare to Duracell in the cold weather. It's about 35-50% of life out of the others, compared to Duracell. Buy with confidence from Moultrie for cams and feeders!
Good luck hunting!
Awsom Pictures. March 26, 2008 Kenneth W. Lambert 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
The advertised Battery life appears to be realistic. My dad and I put the Camera out where it ran taking 1200 to 1500 pictures for about 5 weeks and the battery life was still showing around 80%.
The picture clarity is very good, with deer often visible at distance beyond 150 ft. in the day light with color pictures.
This camera has outperfomred my expectations and I have already recommended it to others. I really really like this camera.
Great easy to use camera! December 21, 2007 P. Johnson (Alabama) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got this camera for my husband for a gift and he has had the best time with it. Really easy to use and set up. So much fun to see what's 'Out there'. He changes locations weekly. Battery is still going after a month and pictures and videos are clearer than I thought they would be. The deer do 'see' that something is there(the red lights), but it doesn't seem to bother most of them and they just keep on eating. Love the video shots too. You see alot the pictures doesn't show. Great product! Buy one of these from Amazon!I buy everything from Amazon-they have the best price and service. Fastest shipping too! How can you go wrong?
A great camera October 24, 2008 Sue-zanne 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My husband wanted this one after having a lesser model. It takes great shots at night. It has various settings you can take how many or little of pictures at time. We have gotten wonderful pictures of deer, bobcat, racoons and other misc. animals & humans.
Better than a Cuddeback October 14, 2009 James V. Peters (Stevens Point WI) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have owned several trail cameras including Cuddebacks. Cuddeback is supposed to be the best. NOT!! The Moultrie Game Spy I-40 beats it hands down. More IR emitters, better picture quality, easier battery loading, external power option, very easy to set up. This was not my first purchase this camera. I am so pleased with this camera I bought 1 for my Father-In-Law to use as a security camera on his garden. (What animals are eating it and people stealing from it) I highly recommend this camera. If you you are using it in the wilderness I recommend getting a bear/security box for it.
